croatiasc.com is looking for individuals or businesses willing to volunteer time towards maintaining and growing the website. The site is on the Google Sites platform which offers a powerful and easy to use set of tools to fit the needs of the very new to the very advanced web contributers. This is an excellent opportunity to get valuable online experience onto your resume or if you've been sentenced to a number hours of community service.

Below is a list of just some of the roles and tasks that need doing to help the site meet the needs of the club and community:
General Contributers
There are a lot of things to do on the site that just don't fit into a well defined role; confirming a team roster is up-to-date, adding tags to photos, correcting spelling misteks, finding the perfect easter egg icon for easter, etc... if you would like to help out but aren't sure how - then this is the position for you.
Site Administrators
The site basically runs itself. But at times content needs to be re-organized or new permissions need to be set. Google provides easy-to-use and simple tools to administer the site so basic web knowledge should be enough to fulfill this role.
Content Moderators
This role is for removing inappropriate posts in the Forum and article comments.
Team Liason
If there is a specific team that you associate with more than others (Croatia 'A', HNK Vatreni, Croatia Over 40s, etc...) and would only like to make contributions for that team - this is the position for you.
Translators
It would be optimal if we had a Croatian and English translation for all of our site content- but that is unlikely in the short term. To start, we'd like to have key pieces on the site in both languages. You could be just learning one or an expert in both languages. Any contribution for translations is highly valuable.
Twitterers
This is a very informal role - but it would be ideal if we had designated volunteers to send tweets to #croatiasc to give updates on game days or other Croatia SC events.
Writer
Content is gold to any thriving website. This site requires writers for match reports, general club news, extended essays, opinion pieces (pen names allowed!), or any other kind of columns you can think of (weekly report on the Canucks? NFL picks? Entertainment scene in Vancouver?) so suggest a topic! There is no miminum or maximum length of contribution.
Photographer
Game photos, team photos, player photos, event photos, etc... if you are interested in photography and would like to put your new expensive camera to use then this is a good opportunity for you. This site uses Picasa for uploading and managing photos which allows for ease of publishing your photos to the site.
Videographer
YouTube would be an excellent platform to publish footage of anything club related - game highlights, club event highlights, anything Croatia SC related. If you have a camcorder or a video camera and would like to put it to use for the club then please join.
Visual or Graphic Artist
Although the visual elements of this site are limited by the constraints of the platform, much more can be done to make the site look better. This includes using visual templates, style guides, icons and other visual cues. This is a good position if you are looking to add to your portfolio.
Web Programmer
Google offers a fantastic platform for web programmers to add a lot of functionality with little work. There are many ideas for new Google Gadgets to enhance this site. If you are a beginner willing to learn or an expert programmer interested in extended their skillset even more then this is a good opportunity for you.
Marketing / Ad Sales
This site has potential to generate ad revenue and increase traffic. The site needs a business minded individual to meet this potential. This is good for a new grad interested in sharpening their skills or an old veteran wanting to find out more about this online stuff. The site uses Google Analytics which looks great on any resume.
E-commerce Person
Google provides all the tools necessary for the club to run all of its transactions through this site: collecting Membership, sponsorships and donations, selling merchandise and any other future goods or services the club will offer. An individual with an interest in commerce would find this a highly rewarding opportunity.
